So, game on for the trip to Tajikistan. We’re going over to train between 10 and 20 Tajik nationals on Keynote’s ‘core’ classes (communications and presentation development skills) as well as give them some advanced training on how to use the recording studio we helped them build 2 years ago.
Right now, I am coming up to speed on the material I’ll be teaching, and how to train people on it. None of us on the team is fluent in either of the two languages spoken there (Russian and Tajik), so we’ll be using translators. And cultural differences need to be figured in as well. Right now for me, it’s like drinking from a fire hose – but it’s fun.
Ed Pithey (another team member and a really good sax player) and I are stopping over in Istanbul for a day as well, to meet with the director of a ministry there that may be interested in partnering with Keynote to bring over bands. Plus, we’ll stay with some of Ed’s friends and play some music with their team (and maybe in the street) while were there. It’s a GREAT opportunity to develop relationships for future trips.
Below is a calendar with our trip’s timeline and suggested things to pray about while we’re gone. (Of course, any prayers are fine…). Click the image below for a larger (readable) version.
