We just got back from Ft. Collins, Colorado, where we worked at Cru’s National Staff Conference. It’s where all 5000 U.S. Staff of Cru (including all of its various ministry divisions) come together for teaching, worship, and leadership development from speakers who are experts on various topics of ministry.
Jennifer did some behind-the- scenes jobs; my main role was to serve on the conference music team. Keynote serves the conference by leading worship, helping coordinate the overall conference programming, taking care of guest artist relations, and providing music for dramatic elements of the programming. It’s a privilege to get to help feed 5000 people spiritually by leading them in worship, and to help send them back into their mission fields refreshed and excited about their ministry.
It’s also a VERY busy schedule, but that sort of service refreshes me as well. (I just like my job!).
I’ll also lead a team (a new band called ‘Stone’) to India this fall for an outreach AND training tour. I’m really excited about this project. The Indian ministry staff has seen us reach college students by the thousands in our last 2 tours; now they want to learn to use western rock music as an outreach tool themselves. And of course, we’re happy to train them! It will take a few trips, and this is just the first one where we sort of build the rails. Should be fun!
Will update more on the new band and the project as it progresses… keep checking in!
