On Tuesday, the 29th of September, I am heading out with a band called ‘Stone’ for what will be our 4th trip to India.
We return the 30th of October… so we’ll spend 4 and a half weeks away. While we’re there, we’ll do a total of 16 concerts, spread across 6 different cities, and we’ll travel via planes, trains, automobiles, and rickshaws.
We’ll also do training seminars in 3 different cities. Two are 3 days long, and another is 2 days long. So, 8 days of our time will be spent doing music ministry and worship training for Indian college students who are considering what it might be like to use their talents for a lifetime of service.
This is easily the most ambitiously planned tour that we have ever been a part of in my career on Cru’s Performing Artist Team. It’s a big opportunity, and we are trusting God for great results!
Please pray that our team will serve our hosts well with outreach and training; that we stay healthy, and that our team will love each other well. A month is a long time to be on the road together!
And of course, we’re all away from families and children of various ages, so please pray for those who stay at home – in a lot of ways, their jobs are harder than ours.
I also want to ask you to pray for something I mentioned in our last letter. Our daughter Sarah, who turns 16 on the day I fly to India, got a concussion during a color guard practice over the summer. She has had recurrent headaches, and is only able to attend school for partial days as a result. We have seen several doctors and a neurosurgeon, who has diagnosed that she has some cognitive and physical impairments as a result of the concussion.
She had an MRI, which showed no brain damage, which is good news.
So, we’re following through with the treatment and are trusting God for a full recovery in time – but in the mean time, please pray. This adds to the complexity of things for Jennifer to manage while I’m away.
As always, we’re grateful for the part you play in our work, and we appreciate your prayers! Can’t wait to give you an update from India!
- For our hosts in-country in India – they are working very hard to keep us busy and we’re praying for them and the follow-up they will do after our tour!
- Things are going very well with Krizia, the Spanish foreign exchange student who is living with us this fall. Jennifer is trying to learn Spanish with her, and with some of her relatives via the Internet. It’s pretty cool.
